What is the best color to paint your house when selling?
We are selling our house and may be forced to repaint, not looking forward to it. Anyhow our furniture is gray and we have laminate flooring (maple). OUr kitchen has white cupboards but yellow countertops. I was wondering what a good color would be for prospective buyers

play around with the Sherwin Williams color visualizer to help you imagine how the colors will look together. It is the best paint visualizer on the web, imho. I like how their color palette is laid out, I like that you can search by color family & color name, the "painted" rooms look the most realistic, and it suggests coordinating color schemes. You can literally spend hours:

I think "cork wedge" (# 7539) might be a great choice.
You can take a photo of your house & upload it to the makeover gallery on this website:

You can get color suggestions & for $5 they’ll photoshop them onto your room so that you can get an idea of what it will look like.

You want to pick a nice neutral color, not white !
Taupe…You can’t go wrong with taupe…Every single color in the rainbow is accented by taupe..

Choose a pale neutral colour. There are many shades of cream – goes with anything.

From your description of your home, I’d suggest a rich light-brown colour for your walls. This will be attractive and very welcoming to prospective buyers. It’s definitely blend in with the yellow and white.

White in the kitchen, pale cream for the rest of the house. Shades of white make the rooms look bigger and brighter.

Hi, to help you with your color selections try going into a site called glidden.com, you can choose from their color chart any color you want and see a room painted in that color, it is excellent. Below are a couple of articles I found you might find helpful. All the best!

regardless of counter-tops,furniture or flooring,,,,the best color to use is an earthy, light, neutral. Don’t use taupe, its too dark…..use a lighter color like ecru, natural linen, doeskin…..
for the trim you can go lighter with a cream color, or slightly darker with a tan color, but be careful not to create sharp contrasts.
these colors best present a "blank canvas" on which the prospective buyers can visualize their own sense of decor.

I think warm earth tones always do well. With the gray, perhaps a light cream or sage will add color while still being fairly neutral.
