Is there a different way to sell a house than using real estate companies?
We live in a small rural town and it’s difficult to advertise to sell a house Big real estate companies don’t really care. Any ideas?

The size of the real estate company doesn’t matter. You should be using a local agent who advertises in a manner that you want. Whether that’s an agent with Re/Max, Coldwell Banker, Century 21, or podunk real estate, it shouldn’t matter. They should put the same amount of effort into selling your home.
You can attempt to For Sale By Owner, but unless you use a listing agency, your house will not appear on the MLS sheets, so no one will no it’s for sale unless they happen to drive by it.
You’ll also need someone to do all the legal details. You can use a real estate attorney to draw up docs and a title company to do the closing, but they won’t help you sell the house.

you can always put up a sign in your yard, owner selling
there are agencies that work with you, ‘Help U Sell’ etc. in every area, check your local listings

You could sell it yourself, but there are a lot of legal details to take care of with the sale of a house, so make sure you know what you are doing. You could contact a real estate office and see if they can recommend someone that could just do the paperwork for you, I think there are people that do that.

Yes for beginners you can try posting you Property in Ebay then advertise via facebook and twitter.
Post on walls of real estate groups in facebook.
